Refinishing choke and petcock lever r75

Post by sprints@pldi.net »

I'm completely redoing my 73 r75/5. I disassembled the petcocks and choke lever today. I can see the choke was painted silver. Do you have any suggestions as to a nice finish? I know that buffing them won't do any good and I'm not sure if they can be plated.
Thanks - Rod

The petcock bodies will take a polish. The levers won't. I sanded a lot of the lettering off mine and painted them. One I did in silver, the other in black. Not sure which I prefer.

Rub and Buff is neat stuff on anything that's in an as-cast state.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.
