Hagon Road v Ikon

Does anyone have experience with the Hagon "Road" twin Shocks.
How do they compare to the Ikons in build quality, performance and ride?

I can't make a direct comparison, but hago shocks come from the original Girling shocks fitted to most British bikes in the 70s, whereas ikons come from the original Koni shocks made in holland and fitted to BMWs and many other bikes in the 70s.

Back in the day you would never fit a Girling shock to a BMW

Look up the YSS shock guy in Sth Oz. There are 3-4 versions for TS models, different prices for different capabilities. $300-$1200.

Adjustable damping, rebuildable and 3.25 inchs of travel compared to about 2.8 for the Icons.

Anything is better than the OEM Boge units. I love my Konis. Purchased for cheap on eBay and rebuilt. They were OEM on R90S models. Garnet's Hagon pick looks good though. Is anyone using them?

I have ran Hagons on one bike for 8 yrs and 2 yrs on the other, no problems, I'm to cheap to buy YSS shocks or Ikons. when I pulled my old shocks off they were so worn that anything was going to be inprovment.

Der Kaiser, a/7, came w/ a set of Hagon shocks. I actually liked them enough that just last week I put a set on Pearl, the RS.
I'm unsure if they were the absolute best choice for that application, but it was economically sound.

How does Progressive hold up vs Ikons and Hagons?
I have two sets of Koni (ikon) shocks. On my trimmed down cafe, they feel good. responsive.
On my R100 S, the jury is still out. When i have a passenger on the back, the bike handles great. they seem too stiff when i am riding solo.
I'm building another bike and i'm looking for sporty suspension with minimum shock travel.

I have to say that I would prefer to see a set of Koni's (or Ikons if indeed they are are good) than a set of Hagons. Not that I have anything against Hagons - they seem to have a good reputation - but I have never had a pair to fit. But they do look 'budget'. Sometimes its the quality that counts.....

Both mine are Koni's. But one set has been fitted with ikon springs to tidy them up.
