Gidday Fellas,
Well I loved the comments and Charlie I waiting for a red hot response of some sort like that mate, you do it well and nicely put togther, "Like a princess locked in a tower" I smiled with that one but then again my RS has probably always had a little bit of the in her as I have never really got out enough and used her to her fully abilities like some of you blokes do with your trips that I read about on here.
The thought of loaning it to them would not sit well with me either, anyway fellas i'm old school, the deal is done now as I have given them my word over the phone and I cannot go back on it...
This must sound stupid but I am relieved that she has now sold, the flame that once burned within to get out and ride it has really now just become a flicker of light at this stage of my life, and on one hand I blame my ole man for that for leaving me behind his bloody old chevrolet that now sits half restored and so proudly in my shed, and on the other for very much pushing me way outside my comfort zone in tackling this resto job as for 12 mths ago I could not have imagined myself doing this type of work on a car, fixing, repairing and restoring the 80 yrs old bits and peieces, slowly rebuilding and bringing it back to life as reliable daily driver for my family to have a little fun in... It's that simple fellas....
Charlie, I will come to some gathering on 4 wheels and please call in when passing through our area mate, your always most welcome mate you know that...

Gidday Fella,
Regards to the Saturday night east of Bendigo offer:
If you are referring to the Bendigo Swap Meet weekend on the 12th/13th Nov, unfortunately I am bringing up 2 other older blokes with me in the ute for the swap meet, the offer is great but I cannot see it working out to well with them on board mate.
Any other time and I will jump in the ute, swag in the back and come up for a few drinks around the fire
There will be other times no doubt Steve, it will happen and thanks once again..

G'day Ross. That's a bugger. Maybe if you need lots of notice we should start planning something a few months ahead - January / February-ish. I'll be taking up residence on my island over the New Year period - it's a great low-cost island paradise adventure, and family oriented with a few teenagers involved. Worth a thought.
Grant, I survived for 30 years without a bike before Brunhilde adopted me during one of my mid-life crises. (I recommend having a few of those, since it's impossible to know how long your life will be and therefor difficult to calculate the mid-point). I fully expect the 'flame' to take you again one day.
Steve, not a bad idea. I have yet to ride out that way on the bike. Of the participants so far, Mal and Bob would have the furthest to travel, but if that works for them let's give it some consideration. I welcome any travellers at mine for sleepovers either or both sides of the weekend.
Edit: I see Grant is an early riser too - his post appeared while I was writing this. Ok, let's forget that one, and look forward to catching up with Grant at a later time. I imagine the swap meet is a social event too. Have you been watching the 'Wide Open Road' doco on tv? (ABC1, Sunday nights). Some good car related memories there - Redex trials, etc

Holy Sheepshit, Ross. That is undignified and un-Australian.
You are not looking well, by the way ... a bit piquey ... stressed ... perhaps overworked.

Mate I am 1/2 way through 3 weeks off at the moment. By April I will have leave accrued again. Why not have a met up at the http://scrapheapadventureride.com.au/ which is going to be in the Snowys next April.Airbear wrote:Holy Sheepshit, Ross. That is undignified and un-Australian.

Grant will probably want to change his handle since he's sold his RS. Maybe to "Grant28Chev"?
