Well done, Jeff and RS. Good to see a bit of the sartorial elegance too. Should be more of it.

What a great post!
You are right about staying on the gas in the sand from what I know about mountain bikes. If you pedal hard through sand it keeps you up on top instead of causing you to dig in.

We could send you some gravel to fix up those muddy roads. Would Nevada be enough?

I think Nevada would be enough Duane.
Can we send it back if the colour is wrong?

My ears have now stopped ringing, mainly because there is no longer nothing to hear, like there was on the nights of my adventure.
Away from the fire on breeze less nights, under starry skies that are the trigger for my wondering, not a single sound.
Just a profound awareness of my fortunate existence.
Mile after mile after mile of absolute freedom.
I am extremely fortunate indeed.
My bike is clean again, my left head re-torqued, my left head valves re-gapped.
My K+N is red dusted on the outside, with no trace whatsoever of any dirt on the inside, the airbox is clean as a whistle.
The snowflakes again showed their off road abilities, tubeless rear.
I don't think there is a bike made that better suits the way, and where, I like to ride.
The RS is a thoroughbred packhorse.

Evocative prose there, Jeff.
I particularly like the apparently oxymoronic yet appropriate "thoroughbred packhorse" reference.
It's got me feeling a bit sad about Brunhilde's current needs, especially since it appears that Spring has finally arrived. She does look very nice sitting on the front porch and I tell her so frequently, but I know she's itching to get out there again and so am I.
