I'm tall enough to straddle both the S and the /7. I sort of paddle them in and out of the barn that way. I can't do both of them at once though, haven't tried it, yet.
That's the way I do it as well. You still have the front brake to use if you have both hands on the bars. I walk/mount my bike from the left only, just like a horse. Yeah, I know, what am I doing mounting a horse, isn't that illegal in some states?Major Softie wrote:The one hand behind the seat thing only works for me if the bike has a rack or grab bar behind the seat. Many do not. It's idiotic if they make you do that on a bike that is not designed for it. Besides, I'm much more comfortable on the left side of the bike, which means I don't have a brake if I'm using one hand on the bars.
Like Jeff, I normally use both hands on the bars and have the bike leaned against my hip.
The horse might not like it much either. She'llbe wrote:That's the way I do it as well. You still have the front brake to use if you have both hands on the bars. Yeah, The Law would not be my first worry there.Steve in Golden wrote:The horse might not like it much either. She'llbe wrote:That's the way I do it as well. Always succinct and accurate! I worry about Vanzen sometimes, he's a real dyed in the wool, Airhead dweebvanzen@rockerboxer.com wrote:Left hand on the left grip, right hand on the frame (or lifting handle).
Bike leaned slightly towards my body –
and go until you have expended the available energy to propel the damn thing.
At which point – be able to deploy the sidestand !
