I totally get it, but maybe for a different reason. When I was a wee child, my bedroom had wallpaper with images of VWs, BMWs, and Harley FLHs. I'm presently at 2 out of 3.
I also can't help but think that Airheads and FLHs are designed to do the same thing. That thing would be crossing continents. Not necessarily the same continents at the same pace, but CC nonetheless.

Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

I can see the VW's and H-D's, but BMW's? That's radical!
Finding "wallpaper" on Google is not easy with all of the computer "wallpaper" out there.

I had something like this when I was a kid. It was my first up-close & personal exposure to motorcycling.

I imagine you practiced a lot of air-motorcycling back then, as I did, and still do in my off time.

Re: Road King dalliance
Yeah, it was a completely random thing. My parents are in no way motorised hobbyist folk. I think they just liked the colors. My mother is still in the same house, but the paper is long gone. I've been looking to see if it's in any old pix, but I haven't found it yet.justoneoftheguys wrote:Those are some impressive parents!melville wrote:I totally get it, but maybe for a different reason. Yep had one of those too, around 1968 or 69. It was the current model then.justoneoftheguys wrote:I had something like this when I was a kid. It was my first up-close & personal exposure to motorcycling.
