I liked the way you wrote it. I visualized your commute as a large loop that you always rode counter-clockwise as viewed from the skies over Colorado.

I think road crown still plays a role. Traveling in the right lane, road crown wears the tire off center to the left. Turning left on the outside of a turn the crown places the bike off camber wearing the left even more, while turning right on the inside of the turn banks the pavement in favor of the bike, wearing the right side less. The net effect of the crown always favors the right side of the tire and I don't think it can be discounted.

Even if right turns are equal to the number of left turns the left side will wear faster because it is further around a left than a right (when driving on the right side of the road).

How about doing a used tire exchange/sale for some our southern and english brothern... I for one will sell my left hand worn Metzlers tires below retail (plus a reasonable shipping and handling charge) to those interested Kiwis, Ozzies or Brits. On all the bikes with I've owned with a single disc front brake, I've noticed, when changing fork oil, the non disc fork is always darker.

I fully expected Major Softie to suggest that only pussies have front brakes. Meow.
