No, no, I figured the operation. Most turn signals I have used are on the left side not the right side. I will probably flashing the high beams and whatever the other direction does on the left side. Possibly the seat ejector for all I know.
Does anyone know what the 5 positions on the ignition switch do?? Is it this ??
1 is off, 2 is no ignition, parking lights, 3 ignition on, 4 ignition on plus tail light?????, 5 ignition on plus lights.

The bike rolls (as in roll, pitch, yaw) CCW (left) for left turns, and CW (right) for right turns. The switch follows the dynamics of the bike.
It always seemed natural to me, but I design and build navigation systems, so I might have a bias.

FWIW, this echoes contemporary European car practice where the indicator switch stalk was on the right of the steering wheel moving up for left and down for right. If you think about it, this copies the movement of the adjacent part of tye wheel rim, so is quite intuitive. FWIW, I find the earlier setup as easy if not easier to use as the later Japanese side to side switch once I got used to it.
