Remember that time I popped the valves back into one head, the wrong way round? I mean it was no big deal, the engine ran very well for about eight thousand k's. And wot, many times.
There was that one time tho, when the inlet valve got tired of being in the exhaust valve position, and tried to get back into its correct position. Stupid valve, that was never going to work, particularly @ 180 kph.
What a chain of event$ that created.
That was my major stuff up.

Not to be confused with the time my oil filter bypass spring broke and eventually chewed the crank. $$

That was the problem with my R65.
And my poor mechanical skills, compounded by my uncontrolled substance intake, led me down the dark path of gas and go.

I tried what I thought would be a relatively simple valve spring replacement (rust), but I never could get my first valve collets back in place. Along with the pitted Nikasil cylinders, I had to consider that replacement engine to be a write off. I never did look in the bottom end to see what that looked like. It did take me about 500 trouble-free miles before I decided to replace the push rod seals, and that is when I discovered the ugly truth. I probably should have just put on the new seals and closed it up... I was scared of a valve spring letting go while going down the highway, in the middle of nowhere.
