Go buy a toaster Sibbo when the pangs hit. There are toasters that look like some bmw's!
German ebay is a source for s/hand discs. About three years ago I bought three or four bmw discs that were 4.7 - 4.8
for well under 100 bucks. I did buy other stuff to offset postage tho.

I just ordered my front lasertec from melb. The local bloke has to buy 500 bucks worth of metzellers to place an order.
Oh well, he can get the pilot activ rear for me. And he can fit the sob too, because they are one sob to seat.
Especially on the side of a 4wd track with a fallen tree, a rock and a log to get the sob of the bead, hey Charlie.
Might go tubeless rear again. Might not, too.

The bloke who did mine in Wodonga received both tyres from suppliers overnight, the Metzeler from Melbourne and the Pilot Acive from Sydney - the last one in captivity, he reckoned. I think he had to pay freight on the Metzeler - he did mutter something about profit margins. He fitted and balanced them for a total of $280.

As an aside, the one is at 4.6mm so what is the life of a disc in miles/ km .OK, a silly question but I ride pretty gently and even when pushing along I don't brake much. So is this one good for 80,000 km/ 50,000 miles ?

I've bought stuff from him before Sibbo. No issues. See if he has any other stuff that are relatively cheap. Sell them on to cover some costs. Sidecovers, instrument bulb holders do well....

That could last 150,000 miles - or 20,000. Depends not just on how you ride, but on the pads.

4.6 is too thin for the current bid. Too much $ for not enough fat.

SteveD or Charlie will have an English link to our favorite German. 4.8 is the minimum ebay I'd go for.
Yes, you prolly would get 50,000 out of a 4.6 disc.

Measurements are sort of open to interpretation, so it pays to shop with a known reliable seller, and his measurements. Like our favorite German.
He did wonders for my RS. I just bought a toolbox and lid in good nick for $64 delivered. I think he $crewed up the postage cost.

I think there is plenty of room to move with the brembo calipers and thin discs.
A worn dis at 4.5mm is .25mm per piston from full spec.
I think the pads could eat the disc and the pistons remain stable.

I'll bet there are some mighty thin rotors out there.
