Interesting Starter Issue

Are you getting a ground path through the brushes. I always have checked the individual commutator segments to ground, you shouldn't have a path. I would think the actual post would be insulated from the housing.

I'll know for sure tonight when I bench test with the new solenoid installed.

Installed the solenoid last night and it ran fine on the bench. I'll put it back in the R90s tonight.

The problem seems resolved.
