So I am cleaning and preparing to lube my clutch arm needle bearings. Snowbum says no moly for this. I have a tube and squeeze tube of BMW # 10 but both products are from 1992! Is that too old? If not, is there a better product available today. I can get Bel Ray waterproof grease nearby, I'm thinking that might be too thick. What thinks you?

The grease is only too old if it has physically dried up or separated out the oil from the soap. If it looks OK I'd use it.

I have used Bel-Ray waterproof grease since forever. It is great stuff for high load bearings such as swing-arms and steering heads.

Hi all, hey think about it like this...if grease had such a short life in the tube, we would have to take everything apart that is greased on these old machines and re-grease much more often. I think when exposed to water and oxygen it will go bad, but takes decades.
