Well, Max BMW may be my new first-look internet parts supplier. For two reasons:

1. They had all the silly gaskets, bushings and caps I needed for my handlebars in stock.
2. They put 2 packages of M&M's in the box.

tough to say which one is more influential.

I've only ever had a real issue with one online supplier, and that was incorrect parts in the package. Irritating. Especially as it was clutch bits. I am generally neutral if I get what I ordered. I am kind of miffed at the ebay policy of "You need to give sellers the best rating if they send you what you bought when they said they would" I think that is "Average", "C" grade service. Go a little further if you want props for "good" or "Excellent"

But I'm an old curmudgeon. Have been since I was 12.

Max dont deal with Oz so no M&Ms for me unless I open a US post box.

Bobs now have the microfiche facility and they have been good in the past, so if I need it the facility it is good to know it is availible.

James Sherlock in England are as cheap as you will get, but they dont have on line ordering,and their site has a limited list.

However, I recently faxed on order to them, and added a few items not on their list using BMW numbers.
They promptly emailed me confirming that they had had everything in stock, quoted the price and postage and it had it here in Oz in less than a week - most impressed.

I have used Bob's BMW and Motobins.
Both have been very good.

Mark Huggett in Switzerland http://www.bmwbike.com/ has a good selection of parts for classic bikes up to early /7s. He has worked closley with BMW to create the motorcycle side of Mobile Traditions, and REALY knows his stuff.

The strong Swiss Franc is killing him right now, but he throws a Toblerone bar in each order.

Edit: Hans at http://www.bmwhucky.com/ has good stock and offers very reasonable shipping to Canada.

Avoid German sites that use DHL - the are the worlds slowest service.
The send their parcels surface so five weeks at the best of times against five days from England,and right now nothing has moved out of Hamburg since before Xmas.
This is confirmed in the Ulismotterad link above.
Severe delays means 3 months and no indication when things will start moving again!

Hate to say this Roy, but your wrong about MaxBMW dont delivery to OZ. I got my full clutch kit for my R1100GS off them last August and have a indicator lens for the same on its way as we speak. They dont have an international shipping link on their site. But all you have to do is sent an email with the part number off the fiche and pay by PayPal. However I didnt get any M&M`s the last time and if none turn up this time, I`ll be having some stern words with them.

Last time I asked they wouldnt, but they didnt take Paypal then either.

Their problem then was with the Oz credit card companies, so it looks like Paypal has fixed that.

But there has been nothing on their site to indicate any change to their old policy, so I assumed nothing had changed
