The only person I know for sure has pulled a trailer is Matt, the guy who runs the site, and he doesn't often post. Also, I THINK he was pulling the trailer with a K-bike, but I don't remember for sure.

Randy (Derwible) has a trailer hitch on an airhead and has pulled a small trailer around town. I think he said he got the hitch from Vanzen, who might have more experience with it.

I personally would not do it. Pre 1980 airheads didn't have good enough brakes for themselves, much less a trailer. The back part of the frame on an airhead is pretty damn light weight and only attached by four bolts the metric equivalent of about a 5/16th. I don't think a Sub-500 pound bike makes a good tow truck.

But thats just me. Having said that, here is my R65 with a 27 foot camper in tow.

I got the hitch from a friend in South Dakota in 1990. He modified it a bit to have it fit the /7. Pic below is homemade Harbor Freight trailer with a Sears cartop carrier. 'Made it' a more than a year ago just for local use. Can use it behind my jeep too. I never planned to do long haul with it. If so, it'd be a slow-boat to China.

If you need a lawn tractor in Texas, I would say you spend too much on making grass grow.

I really like the lawns in Arizona and New Mexico that are just a field of gravel.

The best trailer I have seen was a K100 pulling a pick-up truck box. The owner put a axel with 12inch wheels,
It came in under 350lbs towed nice. This was a steel box, So you could get lighter.

Ever examine the splined end of the input shaft. It's tiny. All the power has to transmit through this little spline.

An Airhead pulling a camper is an abomination. They say there are no bad questions....you have proved them wrong.

But I would defend your right to ask it, no matter what. :|

Actually Rob, I spend zero $ each year on making the grass or mostly weeds grow; maybe ten bucks a year on gas to mow it all. To gravel my lot and a half I guess would run me several thousand dollars. I never water the yard, only the garden with drip irrigation. :)

Zeroscape is a great idea.
