Any suggestions on the best way to remove the center stand springs on a R90/6. Looks like there is a nut missing on the right side bolt, and possibly the spacer.

Lay a board down to protect the valve cover. Lay it on its valve cover. lay a rug down for your comfort. Now you have room to work. I use Vise-grip pliers to grip the spring and pull it off the tang.
Your situation might be different, so I might modify something if I could see the details. It isn't a big job at all.

I love my spring puller. I don't know how I got along without it.

We used one that was quite different, but seemed to work well. I love special tools. However, I describe how the average tool collection will work for the average rider.

Duane, for the umpteenth time, keep Diane out of the workshop.

Use eye protection with whatever method you decide. Those springs can be NASTY!! On some springs I have been able to "retain" their length by inserting small washers in between the coils of the springs while they are entended with the centerstand in the down position. This will make it much easier to reinstall the spring, because it's already extended.

I had forgot all about the penny trick! (washers). Thanks for the reminder! It makes a big difference.
