I stamped a new plate for the headstock on my r75/5. I'm wondering how you form the curve before I rivet it to my neck?

Bend it around a similar diameter tube or plastic pipe? Might want to do it on a slightly smaller pipe since it will tend to spring back. Try a similar piece of metal first to see how it's going to work...let's you practice a bit.

Kurt, that won't work, too stiff towards the edges. It will need sandwiched between two radii and smashed without scratching it. I may find a combination of pvc and pipe that will work.
I don't want to overthink this for as simple as it sounds but I'm rather anal about doing a flawless job on all the work that I've done so far and then putting a piece of bent up cheese on it - no reason it can't be 1st class also

I like your attitude.

Make a U-channel forming block to bend the plate with.



I made one using forstner bits to drill a series of various sized holes in a block of poplar, then sawed it down the middle on the table saw.

Mandrels for pushing plates into the concave openings are just short sections of pipe of diameters that fit the holes.

Ah, now that is the sort of approach I would take, though not as neat.
