My cheap compressor died. I'm an infrequent user. So for $289 CDN I can get one of these. Should I run away?

I guess it depends on how you often want to use and available space. I have a large old commercial Walker behind my shop, but I have one of those cheap Harbor Freight pan cake jobs that cost $40.00 on sale that I use the most. Works great to pump up my tires before a ride, they are portable enough so I can carry it out and inflate car tires, use for odd tasks around the place.
Once we had an industrial engineer redesigning our facility, he used the 85% rule to determine the capacity and features of items he installed. Pick a product that meet 85% of the activities you perform. Now if I used air tools such as sanders and paint guns then I would even need a higher capacity/recovery unit of that Snap On unit.

Hit the garage sales, there is always one lurking beside a burnt out BBQ or pile of roof tiles for a few dollars you may even get all the attachments that the owner had big plans for but never used.

I've been watching. Not a lot of good stuff available right now.
