Re: E5/E10 Petrol
Are there different burn rates of the flame front with E5 vs E10? Or volatility of the fuel? Could something like that contribute to better running? Kurt There must be. I ran a Chinese 125 Yamaha copy some years ago. These are set to run very lean. Going from E10 to E5 and the idle speed would incr...

E5/E10 Petrol
I run a 1995 R100R and where possible fill with E5 but I also run E10 if forced.
I'm convinced the engine runs smoother with E5. Is this all in my head or has anyone else found this.

Re: Hi from London England!
You may have all ready done this but both gauges should initially be set off the same carburettor.

Re: R50/R60 accelerator pump
Thanks for reply's. As you say a crude none return valve. An extra squirt of fuel just off idle as if the carburettor has an inherent flat/weak spot.

R50/R60 accelerator pump
Could someone explain how this thing works. Have been unable to find either a good diagram or explanation.
I don't have a bike with this type of carburettor, waiting for a suitable R60/6 to appear on Ebay, but like to understand the inner workings.

Re: R100R throttle cables
CIMG2608.JPG This is my temporary bodge to prove a point. it keeps both cables together and held tight into the twistgrip body with a cable tie. Its worked for 100 miles and has enabled me to balance the carburettors. I think the best solution is to convert to a single cable with a bit more length ...

Re: R80 electronic ignition issue
Have found this very interesting and agree that using the manufacturers recommended parts is the obvious solution as they will have spent much time and money developing. Now I used to run a 1985 R80 with electronic ignition which had an intermittent ignition fault that I could not find. As it was my...

Re: ethanol CH3CH2OH
In the UK we have E5 and E10. The only thing I notice is it the idle speed is higher with E5, more combustible?
