Well my new tire came in and I paid some guy to mount it. I took it home and put it back on the bike before I noticed the date stamp. My brand new overpriced tire from Amazon is 7 years old.

The wheel is back in the truck and I ordered a new one from the guy who did the mounting here in town and then I have to ship the old one back. What a pain. I don't think I will be ordering tires off the internet if I have a choice in the future.

FWIW; All the Bridgestone tires I have ordered from J.C.Whitney lately were 2-3 months old.

Brad, I think you should take this up with Amazon. You should not have to pay return shipping.

And remember when doing your Amazon review (I hope you do), make sure you point out the seller's name (Amazon is just the clearing house, after all), and tell the readers how to read the date of manufature on a tire, and to be sure and check it out before mounting the tire - or better yet, before accepting delivery, if possible.

edit: I was always a Bridgestone Spitfire fan, myself.

As my reason for returning it, I clicked Defective/not working and the shipment is free. It came from Amazon itself. No other supplier mentioned. The review is a good idea. I will look into that.
