I'm trying to replace the headlamp gasket on my /7 headlamp - the one between the glass and the reflector.
I've bought the gasket so don't tell me to use tape!
I gather the smooth surface stretches around the glass with the thick rib being on the out side to the front and the two fine ribs fit up to the reflector.
But the gasket just keeps slipping off - how is it done?

Re: Headlamp Gasket
I never had a gasket try to slip off, so I suspect that something is amiss. The gasket gets stretched out a fair amount and stays on the glass quite well.
did you use some special magic spray on the glass, or rubber gasket? It only need be clean.
You do have the 5 spring clips?

OK - I can't find any instructions how to fit this gasket - so I'm only guessing how and which way round it goes on.
Can any one tell me how?

Your first guess is correct. However, it doesn't matter one bit which way you install it as far as staying in place.Nourish wrote:OK - I can't find any instructions how to fit this gasket - so I'm only guessing how and which way round it goes on.

Re: Headlamp Gasket
The only way I could keep the gasket on was to turn it around so that the two fine ribs were forward to the glass and the thick rib to the back up to the reflector and all went back together.
