Love the simplicity......
Re: Love the simplicity......
Welp, got her fixed. It seems my stepson got some bad fuel, either from the holding tank at the station, or he filled his tank with diesel. Anyway, he won't "admit" to filling it with diesel, but it's AMAZING how much better it runs with fresh gasoline in it!!! Less smoke too!!

Doh! Yeah, I don't think my old Honda Cub would've run on diesel . . .

DIESEL!? You need to have a talk with that boy.
Warn him away from ethanol fuel, too.

My 2011 chevy tells me how many miles I have left to go, down to about 50 miles, then it says - Low Fuel. I don't think the manufacturers want pictures of their cars sitting on the side of the road with the dash saying - 5 miles left.barryh wrote:What's the one thing you need to know when you are low on fuel - how many miles

I guess that's why they do it - to protect their own backside. I could cope without the "miles left" display as I have a brain that can work that out but only if there is an oddmeter to read and there isn't. Once the low fuel warning message comes up the only way to display an oddmeter reading is to turn off the engine. I still think that's crazy and I hate it when manufacturers dumb things down to the nth degree.bbelk wrote: My 2011 chevy tells me how many miles I have left to go, down to about 50 miles, then it says - Low Fuel.
