Hello all,
I was lucky enough to inherit a R100rs (1979) this year, though it had been standing since 1982 in a concrete garage in damp cold UK it was a complete bike, not so now as I'm restoring it and it's in boxes you could say the boxer is boxed.
I'm new to BMW I've always been a Kawasaki man but I'm loving a different project to what I've had before.
Does anybody out there know if the drive shaft UJ can be replaced or do I have to purchase a new shaft?
Regards
Jon

Re: Drive shaft
They can be replaced, by those who know how.
Moderators, can someone help this guy out and move his thread to the proper forum?

Re: Drive shaft
Why would the u joint need replacing if the bike sat so long?
How many k's?
The bmw airhead u joint was not intended to be seviced, so it isn't a straight swap.
There is a small amount of welding required with the fix.
A mill would be nice to have access to for removing the original retaining stakes.
