HID Conversion
Converted the low beam on my K1200 GT to an HID system - outstanding, though K's have a reputation for poor headlights, as mine did. Considering a conversion, if available, for my Airhead. I've read that the electrical draw is less with much better illumination - "Studies show that a 35 Watt HID lamp produced 3 times as much light compared to a 55-Watt halogen bulb. Also, the 55 Watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 10-15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 for start-ups but drops to a mere 3 amps during operation." Any and all opinions/advice/enlightenment welcomed and appreciated.

Re: HID Conversion
Hid for low and high beam is not good, because if the light goes out that's it. No high beam either.
As low beam only, Not so much a problem.

Re: HID Conversion
A few years ago there were some very sketchy kits for sale on eBay. They worked, but the focus was terrible and they were blinding for oncoming traffic. Hopefully you are looking at something much better.
