I had a great ride home, didn't make it to the sunshine coast to change my oil and filter. Alternator quit working south of Tenterfield, shut off the lights and ran off the battery for the last 200 kilometers. Made it home no worries, but my bladder was killing me as I didn't want to turn the motor off and find I didn't have enough juice to fire up again. Small group at Guyra, but a great gathering it was.

That was a great ride, Ross and I went up from the Pacific Hwy to Gloucester then Thunderbolts Way to Uralla, then
up the New England to Guyra. There first so we went into town for lunch and back to the van park where She'llby
and Sibbo had just arrived.
We all then went to survey our accomodation and were very pleased with what we found.
The main room,

With enough space for a larg crew

Woodheater

TV and loungechairs

In the Kitchen/Dining area, with all that needed plus more,

I had a nostalgic ride back to Newcastle via the New England, its a lot smoother but unfortunately
also a lot straighter, it was more fun back in the old days.
Thanks blokes see you at the next run.

Good on you guys,
looks like a good time.
Saturday was nasty weather down here- glad we didn't try to ride and camp in it.
Next time.
She'll Be Right: mate, next time, empty your bladder and park her on a hill. Charlie and I played around with roll starting a fair bit on the Barry Way and it really is a breeze once they are warmed up, even on dirt.
I hate trying to push on with a full bladder. Ouch.
On that note, I remember my first car- a little toyota corrolla station wagon that I got for $500. The battery and alternator went, so every where I drove it I had to park it on a hill. Then the radiator sprung a bad leak, so every where I drove it I had to park it on a hill, near a tap.

Re: Another Oz get together
Well, I did pass Sibbo.... between Kyogle and Casino.... and I thought, nah, wrong model Merc, his has rectangular lights.... wrong!
I couldn't pick my bike up until Saturday in Brisbane, so stayed overnight with another friend of Peter and I, up on the Tambourine road... then did the Border Ranges down past Sibbo's road, caught up with other friends in Mur'bah and Uki.... and headed for a bed near Kempsey.
I came home yesterday via the Willi Willi and Werrikimbe wilderness areas, taking in the Oxley Wild Rivers and Carrai National Parks too. Did about 180km of trails - didn't see another person/car for over 150km in there. Doable on road tyres if dry... and taking it easy. Absolutely fabulous territory in there - and there are NP huts at Kookaburra and Daisy Plains. I did about 240km IIRC between fuel stops (Kempsey and Gingers Creek on the Oxley Highway) and used 22 litres.
I barrelled down the Oxley Highway - one of the best in the country - and slabbed it home in the rain. Came across a head-on on the F3, which wasn't pretty - I'm presuming one of the cars spun. Ughh.
Sorry to pollute the thread with an orange bike.... but here's a couple of teasers. If you guys fancy another meet - it'd be hard to beat a day or two at the Kookaburra huts. Going on the road, it looked like only 2 4WD's had been through over the weekend, so its a quiet place. Just perfect.
