they're very well made for the money and have 4 rebound damper settings.

I've used them for years on my R90s with no issues whatsoever.

I am watching some Ikons they are selling on another listing with the covers on them, for $369.00. They sell the covers separately for $80.00, so conceivably you could save $40.00 by buying them separately.

Here is a link to their application chart. http://www.ikonsuspensionusa.com/full_s ... ations.pdf

I paid over $400 for a pair of 7610 direct from Ikon factory. The shocks picture in the ebay ad appear to be genuine with the 'assembled in Aus sticker' and writing on the spring. But who knows.
250 is very cheap.

Had a look at the Ikon site, the basix shock doesn't have adjustable dampening.

OK---there had to be something different for $170 less than the standard 7610s. I had, frankly, assumed Chinese manufacturing, but the labels do say "Australia". I'm inclined to think that I wouldn't miss damping adjustment, since there haven't been any adjustments available on my long-serving Nivomats.

If you do "average" riding, and (more importantly) are around "average" weight, you're probably right.

These shocks have spring preload adjustments but no dampening adjustment. Basix. Not the 7610-1298 which has the dampening adjustment.

'Assembled in Australia' (from local and imported ingredients  )
Ikon (Albury, Aus) is a small business. But their shocks take a proven hammering.
They can be ordered with different spring rates too.

I started following the cross references for the shock. What is being offered with the covers is the model 76-3008. According to Ikon site the shock for the R90/6 is a 7610-1298 which crosses to a Basix 76-3005. This vendor does offer the 76-3005 but without the aluminum covers. (Same price for both model numbers w/o covers) Looking at the raw specs the 3005 and 3008 as the same dimensions, so I don't know what the differences are. In the specs there is a series of numbers that I don't know what they mean. maybe someone could clarify it, On the 3005; 220/18-25-33 on the 3008; 220/15-21-26.

I paid $671.5 delivered from Albury to Hamilton (Aus)inc GST for 7610 shocks with adjustable damping and preload without covers.
Superb shocks, transformed handling of 71 R75/5.
