BMW Grips

Post by Gibson »

Hey, How many of you like BMW's stock tapered grips? I just cant get used to them. Swapped them out last week and the controls feel so much better to me...but I'm sure some love them. Just curious.

I like mine OK. It's not like I'm changing grips every few weeks for comparison. I think I'm only on my second pair of grips on my '78 R100/7.

All the street model bikes I've owned post 1980 have all had the same grips. They are tapered with the largest diameter at the ends.

I like them better than the earlier skinnier style, but I have arthritis in my hands that makes the more relaxed grip a benefit.

OK, now I understand why I didn't recognize the issue. That is way too new for me to have worked on, ridden, seen or had anything experience. Sorry for butting in.

I've only used Emgo Granturismo and Rojen Fin-Q grips on mine. The OEMs seem too hard.
