Gearbox swap

Howdy folks. Been a long time since I posted here, but I have been riding pretty much trouble free knock on wood for several years. If I might ask a question that could save a whole lot of time in research, I would appreciate it. Here 'tis ; Would it be possible to just bolt up a tranny from a 1983 R80RT to my 1991 R100 GS ? Having some gearbox issues and looking for the easiest solution to get back on the road for some good Autumn riding! Or, if anyone has a good gearbox that might work for sale, that might work too. Yep. Earlier 83 trans will have the shift kit and a circlip too.
Pre 1981 no good though.
