New owner here. Looking to upgrade wiring to M-Unit

Post by WantAnAirhead30 »

Just bought my first airhead. Already in love. She's a 1975 R75/6. Runs great and looks even better. Started tinkering and now my entire front end is apart. Figured it would be nice to upgrade to the ultra sleek M-Unit by motogadget, but in reality, am no wiring genius. I know the m-unit replaces a lot of the old unnecessary wiring, but I'm sure some things need to be kept in place. Can anyone sort of guide me through this process. Anyone done the build and have some insights?
Thanks in advance guys and thanks for having me!

G'day Want, and welcome aboard. It's good to read that you are already in love with your airhead.

I don't recall mention of the M Unit technology on this board, but here is a link to a thread on ADV:

If you do a search on ADV > Old's Cool > Airheads you'll find many more threads dealing with the M Unit and the various difficulties encountered and victories achieved by inmates there.

I can predict that by the end of your M Unit install you will be a wiring genius. This is a greater plus than just having sleek uncluttered handlebars. Your wallet may suffer in the process. Best of luck with it.
