Siebenrock vs BMW (Neutral Switch)

Per my previous post, I need to replace the neutral switch. I've read some recommendations to cover the end of the switche with JBWeld or silicon. Ted Porter sells Siebenrock's replacement switch that is supposed to not leak. Has anyone tried Siebenrock's switch. Given what I've read about Siebenrock, I'd assume that it would be a good product.

I saw your crosspost on the MOA forum. Over there, I basically wrote that Tom Cutter had 5 out of 6 switches from Siebenrock fail on him, one way or the other. I did my clutch 5 years ago on my /7...used an OEM switch without any extra sealing and the switch is working fine. The key I feel is to not overtighten and distort the body of the switch. YMMV.

Me too, when using the stock oem switch (which rarely leaks), just use the crush washer for sealing.

I have the opposite experience with neutral switches. I have replaced 4 switches over the past 3-4 years. All were purchased stock switches from BMW. I did the JB weld trick. And they all leak anyway. And no, i am not over tightening them.
I talked to a few local mechanics and others and it seemed we all had the same problem. I'm not sure if BMW made a bad run (i think they are actually from China) or something...?
I recently replaced one of my weeping switches with an aftermarket switch that MAX sold me, and so far, so good. I don't know if it is a Siebenrock or not but if you call Rusty at MAX, he can set you up. Oh, and it is cheaper too!
