I guess it's kinda sick but I like the fact that the old bikes "need me", I have owned a few "push the button and go away" bikes but I always end up getting rid of them pretty quick and replacing them with some "old nail" that "needs me".

I have had a fiddle of El Lobo this morning. Lubed the chain and adjusted the handle bars to suit me better. That was it.

My fingers can now find other things to fiddle as I have so much time up my sleeve.

Get yourself a chain oiler and you won't have to do any chain maintenance. The Loobman is simple and cheap. I'll wear out a rear tire before I have to adjust the chain. In the meantime I have a number of friends all getting shafted on their Beemers.

Oh I better go and lube my input shaft! Now where did I put that Honda moly paste anyway?

Lets see....I'll just pull back the swing arm and I'm done! Easy Peasy!!!!!!

I went for a 'green lane' ride yesterday and found myself bobbling along at 45 to 50 mph and enjoying it greatly . 70mph /110km on the highway has very little appeal although I like a long set of bends as much as the next bloke .

A lighter bike would be good, less vibs through the bars too .Where the hell do I get a small light old fashioned triple ??

Also, I agree with Unclviny about the newer/older bike thing. I like them both but end up keeping the bikes with "character".
