Not everyone has/uses ass. Lube.

I'm a shallow, shallow man but I'm surprised (maybe pleased) that no one has commented on the use of ass lube to protect one's bottom end.

As for my charging issue - I'm going to ignore it. The bike starts and runs really well, I have no extra equipment to power and the only time I've been let down it was an old battery that failed. I can live with 13.7 volts.

I'm glad as well that no one commented on that.

If you find the need Ray, a bosch RE57 is a good substitute for the oe regulator.
My RE57 allows up to 14.5 or so volts. (according to my multi meter)
That's good for my agm Motobatt battery.

Mmmm..yeah. But it ain't quite right. Take it as a sign. if you have an accurate volt gauge on the dash and a switch so you can turn off the headlight (not critical, you can always unplug the bulb) then if it drops to 12V you know you've lost the charging system (charging light may help, test it) and you can beeline it for the nearest safe harbor.

About a teaspoon. (Max)

Prime before putting barrels on. No pressure on followers.
Oil pick up full, Oil filter canister full, galleries full, oil to mains, big ends, outlets to push rod tubes.
Oh, and use assembly lube as well.

I think 10 seconds cranking to prime a completely dry circuit is not unreasonable.

uh...ya missed it. If the followers are in place you need at least light pressure on them. I imagine there is some way to do it (have a helper? Rubbah bands?).

And then by the time you clean it up enough to use that sealant you believe does something useful for you....
