/5 - /6 - /7 transmission swap

Hi everyone
Does anyone know if its possible to swap a '71 /5 transmission (4-speed) with /6 or /7 5-speed transmission?

Yep, any transmission from 1970-1980 will interchange with no issues.

No need to change release lever or clutch pushrod??

Nope, no need to change release lever or clutch pushrod. The big changes came in 1981, when BMW went to the lighter clutch carrier system. There were different throw out bearings used through the years, but all 1970-80 will work (same clutches).
