Hello people of the world,
I need some help and needed to come to the experts. I am looking at two Airheads and need to understand the differences so I can make the best decision.
I am looking to purchase an airhead in the near future with the intentions of turning it into a scrambler.
The two options I have at the moment are a
R80 - 1991 OR
R100R 1992
From my understanding the frame is larger on the R100R? and also has larger profile tyres and longer forks. What do you think will be better for my project? If I was to purchase the R100R I would need a new tank because it is ugly.
Any thoughts and insight would be largely appreciated.
This or that?

Velcome!
I woulda thought the 800 would give a lighter setup for a scrambler. It would also have the less troublesome monolever swingarm. The 100r has the paralever.
If you're tall and beefy, it probably wouldn't matter.

I like the twinshocks a lot, so the mono would be a good choice for a scrambler.SteveD wrote:Velcome!![]()

Re: This or that?
Does the R100R run larger wheels? I want to run fat beefy wheels.
I'm not tall, a little beefy! so will it matter at all? is it better for easier service to avoid the Paralever swing arm?SteveD wrote:Velcome!![]()
