I have had good luck with the Grimecas on my 81 R100RT.

I put Grimeca's on my 88 R100RT and I've been very happy with them. I did purchase them from Motobins and they arrive relatively quickly.

The Grimica rotors come with the carriers bolted to them, so replacement in the future can be limited to the rotors only. If my memory serves me correct (which it seems to be doing less and less these days), some replacement rotors require you to drill out the rivets holding the rotor to the carrier. I've read that drilling those rivets out is a royal PITA, but I have no first or second hand experience. Just third party info. Anyway, not having to drill out the rivets was a big plus for me. I didn't want to deal with the time and possible frustration.

As I was saying, I replaced the discs with a set of new EBC units along with a sets of organic pads. They work good, I also changed the M/C to a 16mm unit on the dual disc conversion. The whole system was rebuilt so it's hard to say if only one item made a major difference as everything was changed, including new S/ S lines, at the same time.
I didn't find many options for my year of bike so I used the EBC. Now someone mentioned Brembo being available, they are the go to source for braking components, so depending on price I would seriously consider them.

I'll probably get the Brembos, they only have one Grimeca left. I do know that Brembo makes some cheap automotive rotors. It seems like you can't trust name brands anymore.

Ordered 2 Brembo rotors 2 Ferodo pad sets, top end gasket set, caliper rebuild kits, spare alternator rotor.

It looks like the '84 uses the same size rotor and carrier as the older ATE brakes. If you can verify this is the case then switch to floating rotors by Ferrodo to save $$$ and improve rotor/pad life. There is a conversion kit so you can reuse your original carrier and just replace the rotors when needed.
